Southridge Dental in Nampa provides virtually every dental service available for your oral health and will be able to complete it in our office. In the event that we feel the procedure you require is outside the scope of our expertise, we will refer you to a specialist who can better treat your needs. After the specialist has completed the recommended treatment for you, our office will be ready to handle your follow-up care.
Professional Hygiene Therapy. You will find our hygienists compassionate and careful to meet your oral hygiene needs. We have warm water in the hygiene lines and offer pre-cleaning rinses that leave your mouth “numb” for those sensitive areas. Non-Surgical Periodontal Treatment. For major surgery, we refer to a specialist. For limited gum tissue removal, tongue-tied dilemmas, and high smile lines that appear “gummy” – we offer in office treatment. Often the orthodontist will refer a patient to us to remove tissue between the upper front teeth to allow for adequate tooth movement. In addition, your hygienist may recommend more profound cleanings to aid in the health of the very tissue support that keep your teeth bright.
White Composite Fillings. Because much controversy surrounds the use of silver, amalgam fillings (mercury, fracture lines, leaky margins) - we do not offer them. White composite fillings are exceptional treatment options as well as other glass ionomer resins, porcelain, and gold.
Orthodontics “braces.” Would you like to have straighter teeth? Ask about how braces can help your smile. (adults and children)
Crowns and Bridges. When decay gets too big to support a standard filling, crowns are needed. Other reasons for crowns are fractured teeth and root canals. Anytime a tooth can not support a standard filling without the risk of fracture, a crown is necessary. Like a small twig void of vital sap, a tooth without the vital pulp becomes brittle. Therefore, root canal teeth are recommended to be crowned. Bridges are simply crowns fused together to span a gap where a tooth is missing or has been removed. Crowns and bridges are great treatment options to maintain the health and appearance of your smile.
Implant Placement and Restoration. We are pleased to offer Camlog implants. Most dental implants can be placed and restored in the office. For cases of compromised bone or sinus lifts, these are referred out to a specialist. Following implant placement, a temporary is made until the final crown, bridge, or denture is completed. Implants are covered by most insurance because of longevity and reliable long-term prognosis.
Dentures and Partial Dentures. When teeth become too decayed or broken and multiple teeth are involved, complete dentures and partial dentures are an option. These “plates” must be removed at night and provide an affordable option to missing teeth. Partial dentures use existing teeth to serve as anchors for the plate and many different styles and options are available.
Teeth Whitening. Everyone wants a brighter smile. Dental cosmetic whitening gives patients the type of bright smile they desire. There are many types of whitening systems that yield different results. Ask us about cosmetic whitening and whether or not you are a good candidate.
Root Canals. When bacteria enters the pulp it thrives and destroys the tooth. This damage is irreversible. The pulp is then removed with the tooth (extraction) or removed while leaving the tooth (root canal). It is my attempt to avoid root canals when at all possible. However, when necessary, a root canal can preserve a tooth in the mouth for many years with safe and reliable results.
Wisdom Teeth. Most dental extractions, including wisdom teeth, are performed in office. Only in cases with possible sinus, nerve or other bone and tooth conditions are extractions referred out to a specialist.
Night guards and TMD Therapy. TMJ stands for the jaw joint. TMD is the dysfunction of the joint. Everyone has TMJ, not everyone had TMD. Grinding teeth is due to both physiologic and stress factors of the individual. Sometimes wear patterns develop in the teeth and muscle pain develops as a result of grinding. Night guards and splints offer relief to most cases. When conditions persist, these cases are referred to a specialist for further evaluation and treatment.
Nitrous Oxide and Oral Sedation. Fear of the dentist is one of the primary reasons people do not go to the dentist. For these patients, nitrous oxide and oral sedation techniques are available. Most fear can be alleviated with nitrous oxide. For other cases, taking a small “pill” prior to your visit will reduce most of the unwanted fear. Your dental visit should be a pleasant one, ask what we can do to make every dental experience a pleasant one.
Children’s Dentistry. We offer all aspects of children’s dentistry. We love our young patients and take great effort to help them feel comfortable. If your child is “anxious” ask about happy visits. We will never force treatment on anyone, especially children. If your child is resistant, he or she will likely be referred to a specialist.
